Safe neighbourhoods are built one street, one conversation, and sometimes one well-translated brochure at a time. The Rotary Club of Edmonton is pleased to share news of a recent contribution to a long-standing community partner that does exactly that kind of grassroots work, day in and day out.
On Friday, May 29, 2026, J.J. Tremblay, Chair of the club's Community Service Committee, met with Ann-Marie Thivierge, President of the Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch Program Society (ENW), to present a Rotary Club donation of $500.00 in support of the printing of brochures, program information sheets, and multilingual outreach materials. These resources are vital for engaging neighbourhoods, supporting seniors, and ensuring residents have access to clear, accurate safety information.
Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch is a not-for-profit, charitable, volunteer-driven crime prevention organization whose mission is to build safer communities through awareness, education, inclusion, and participation. Working in partnership with the Edmonton Police Service, ENW supports community-level programs led by trained volunteer ambassadors in neighbourhoods across the city. With a very small staff serving the entire city, the organization relies heavily on its network of community volunteers — and on the printed and translated materials they hand out at community league events, senior centres, and front doors. In a city as linguistically diverse as Edmonton, making sure crime prevention information reaches residents in the languages they actually speak at home is not a nice-to-have; it is essential to the program's reach and credibility.
The club extends its sincere thanks to Ann-Marie Thivierge and the entire team of volunteers and staff at Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch for the work they do to keep our communities informed, connected, and safe. The photograph below captures Ann-Marie Thivierge and the Chair of the Rotary Club of Edmonton's Community Service Committee at the presentation.
Supporting community partners like ENW is a core part of what the Rotary Club of Edmonton does, and these contributions are made possible by the generosity and engagement of our members. If you'd like to learn more about the club, our community partners, or how to get involved, we'd love to welcome you at one of our weekly lunch meetings at the Chateau Lacombe.
