As Cole has returned from his youth exchange, he will report back on his experiences in Denmark and trips around Europe.

Cole's older brother Chad went on Youth Exchange two years ago and his sister, Vicki, was our outbound student last year to Brazil.

Dr. Melanie Humphreys President and CEO, The King's University
Dr. Melanie Humphreys is entering her fourteenth year as President and CEO of The King's University in Edmonton, Alberta. A respected leader in Canadian higher education, she is passionate about preparing graduates who combine professional excellence with wisdom, character, and a commitment to serving their communities.  Since joining King's, Melanie has led significant institutional growth, including the introduction of new academic programs, expanded community partnerships, and the development of the Centre for Excellence in Science—the largest capital project and fundraising initiative in the university's history. Opening in 2026, the Centre reflects King's vision of bringing together faith, scientific discovery, health, sustainability, and innovation to address the opportunities and challenges of a changing world.

Melanie holds a PhD in Higher Education from Azusa Pacific University and has lived and worked in four countries, teaching in nine. Together, APSN's member institutions educate more than 220,000 students, graduate approximately 50,000 learners each year, contribute an estimated $38 billion annually to Alberta's economy, and conduct more than $2 billion in research. 

A long-standing member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Glenora, Melanie values Rotary's commitment to service above self and community leadership. Camp Yowochas is a year round outdoor education centre and summer camp. From September to June we offer both day and overnight bookings for field trips, corporate events, holiday parties, etc.   Camp Yowochas has many areas throughout our property that they use during the course of the year: The campfire circle, Picnic Shelter, Arts & Crafts Hall, Fireside Lounge, Dry Sauna, Natural Sauna, Challenge Course Area and the Retreat Cabin.  The camp is located on the north shore of Wabamun Lake.

This meeting will involve car pooling from West Edmonton and traveling to Camp Yowochas for approximately an one hour drive.  YWCA will provide camp food for lunch.  After the tour we will return to Edmonton.   Yowocohas Map

Access details:

• Take Highway 16 to Range Road 52 (west of Wabamun – East of Entwistle)
• Turn south on Range Road 52
• Follow the green and white signs through the Hamlet of Fallis to their parking lot
• Speed limit through Fallis is 30 km/hr and is enforced throughout the year by RCMP
